Natural Hair Color: Who knew?
February 2007
Did you
know that there is a natural, healthy way to color your hair and
effectively cover grey? If you didn’t, then you’ll be pleasantly
surprised to find out that chemical-free hair dyes are a fantastic way
to get long-lasting, natural-looking hair color that leaves your hair
shiny, healthy, and damage-free!
If you’ve
ever had sensitive skin or adverse reactions to chemicals such as
ammonia, you’ll definitely benefit from natural dyes. They are
absolutely ideal for anyone who has ever suffered from dandruff,
psoriasis, eczema, skin rashes or any other skin conditions. If your
hair is thinning or if you have had hair loss you may also want to
consider switching to a chemical-free product that won’t cause further
damage or hair loss. If you have undergone chemotherapy or have any
form of cancer and wish to continue coloring your hair, it is also
imperative that you opt for a chemical free alternative. Even if
you’ve never suffered from any of these conditions, but you’re just
looking for something a little safer for you and for your environment,
then we have the perfect alternative.
My
personal favorite is the Allegretti hair color, it’s what I use to
cover grey and it works like a charm, the brand was actually only made
for hair salons and professional stylists before, but as soon as we
got the chance to get our hands on it we started selling it to the
public and it has been one happy customer after another since then.
These safe, environmentally friendly, natural hair colors might sound
like a new concept, but might be surprised to know that Allegretti has
been around since 1962, and it was in 1981 that they created the Color
Royal Gel, which was the first color without alcohol or ammonia.
One little
trick I use to add dimension to the color and make it look more
natural is to combine two colors at once. Suppose you are looking for
a medium brown, try getting a dark brown and mixing it with a very
light brown to get the desired result, this way you can be sure to get
just the right color. You can also experiment with ratios to see what
works best, try two thirds of one color with one third of another, the
great thing is that you can keep the remainder of your dye until the
next time you color, unlike regular dyes, which need to be thrown away
after they are opened. You’ll find that natural hair color doesn’t
work as well as regular hair color, it actually works much better! It
is easy to use and you’ll be elated by the result.
